The Atekho Mission
Holding Onto Our Words, Stories and Culture!
When Boa Sr, the last speaker of the Bo language, said, "Don't forget our language, grab hold of it; don't ever let go of it," she left us with a powerful reminder: languages are precious, yet fragile.
Atekho, named after the Great Andamanese word for language, is our response to that call. More than just an app, Atekho empowers communities and linguists to document languages collaboratively—wherever they are. With offline access through a browser, an intuitive design, and self-documentation capabilities, Atekho ensures that languages are preserved with community ownership at its core.
Atekho isn’t just an app—it’s a movement. A commitment to safeguarding every language and story for future generations
